Bill led us in the pledge of allegiance.  Karen led the way with God Bless America, and Darrell led us in prayer.

 

Announcements:

·        Needham Art Association Spring Art Sale, Saturday, April 28, 1-4 PM will be held at Wingate (a percentage of the sales will benefit the NAA Art Scholarship for Needham High School students)

·        GSE is still looking for two hosts (we already have Bill P. and Karen hosting) for the a couple of Days in May (13-15).  Look for an email with more info.  Contact Karen if you would like to participate

·        Crutches for Africa-  clean out your closet, basement, attic and give away your crutches, walkers, canes, wheel chairs to be loaded into a shipping container to help folks in Africa- See Karen

·        Reality Fair is May 21 at Needham High School.  Volunteers are needed. Contact Rich, Bill P. or Chris if you would like to participate

·        Cheer on Chris Teachout as he runs his first marathon Patriots Day!

·        Raffle Tickets:  Each member was given $250 worth of raffle tickets to sell to raise funds to support our local projects.  It will be a 50:50, with a minimum pot of $1,000 up to $6,000.  SELL, SELL, SELL to support our great initiatives and projects that serve to improve the quality of our community!

Guests:

Kathhie Tedessio and Jeanie Kerry from the Needham Library Foundation; Eric from Visions Medical Center, and Susan Stanton the new administrator at Wingate, Deb Donovan’s guest. Roberta Seligman came as a ‘Future Rotarian’ but left as a full fledged member!

Birthdays:  Deb Donovan, but she denies it!

 

Humor: Lois told a good joke!

 

Happy $$$:  Charles (chomping at the bit to be President) Nelson for our guests;  Scott for another great vacation; Glen for Kathy Whitney who is going to ‘pinch-spell’ for him Wednesday night; Greg for a terrific Rotary PR Expo, where Bill Paulson spoke about the Reality Fair; George for not much more tax season, or career!

 

Induction of Our Newest Member:  Roberta Seligman was inducted as our newest member of Needham Rotary. PE Charles, Bill Rosenthal and Roz her sponsor did the induction. Roberta is Marketing Manager at Griswold Homecare in Needham. Welcome Roberta!

 Guest Speakers: Jeanie Kerry spoke about the great work of the Needham Library Foundation. This group is sponsoring a gala in September, and she is soliciting ads in the program book. Tickets are $75 each.
