Announcement:
. Dan Tibma told us we will not be laying carpet at Needham Community Council this Saturday. The materials have not arrived.
. Bob Weller offered to preside as President next year if we were willing to have him serve from Naples, FL. Guess that’s why they invented teleconferencing. So, unless we have someone else come forward, it will be ‘President Bob’ for the 3rd year!
. Greg thanked everyone again who helped with the music event. Thank you Deb Kazarian for selling so many tickets; Bob Cocks for musical talent; Libby Piro for lighting and Kathy Whitney for arrangements with local restaurants.
Guests:
- Jean Barbuzzi, ad designer extraordinaire of Buyer Advertising
- Tedi Shapiro and parents
- Jarod Horgan and parents
- Peter Steppe and Harold Dubin, friends of Bill Paulson
Happy Dollars: Glad for cold weather(can you guess what member oil dealer that was?); welcome guests; glad to see Jean from Buyer’s; for aware winners; glad daughter home safely from Italy; glad both children moved and on their own.
50:50: Number actually belonged to Scott but Marty tried to steal his thunder: what an excuse-‘I need new glasses! No luck winning the $88 jackpot. Rossini was conductor of the day.
Joke of the day: Doug had 2 non-memorable jokes. Please keep trying we can always use a good laugh.
Birthdays: None
Guest Speaker: None
Our prize winners from our recent music event, Jarod Horgan and Tedi Shapiro, were presented with $125 check each. Some of the music they played for us was composed by Jarod who is a senior now and will be attending Berkeley School of Music in Boston next year since music is his passion. Tedi is a junior and has lofty ideals to save the world and entertain with her music. Both young artists are quite remarkable and deserving.
Future Meeting: Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Sheraton Needham
