We were led in the Pledge of Allegiance by Pres. Charles Nelson; Ron Sockol led us in God Bless America and Rev. Darrell Minnich delivered the invocation.

Announcements:
* Glen is trying to finish up the accounting for the Pancake Breakfast. If you have money from ticket sales or ad sales, please get it to him!.
* Brenda Diaz told us that Wingate will be hosting an NBA holiday party on 12/11/12. They are looking for donations of wreaths or poinsettias for silent auction with proceeds going to help hurricane Sandy victims
* Erica Bond is hosting the Rotary Christmas Party at her home on Tuesday December 18th at 6:30 pm. Check your email for the invite and details!
*Karen Wetmore reminded us to contribute $20 to her and the club will send gifts to Needham residents through the Needham Community Cards.
*Ted brought us up to date on 12 year old Sophie from El Salvador who just had her surgery through the Gift of Life program, and it was a success!!
*President Chas announced that the Board of Directors has approved: $100 to a Needham Eagle Scout looking for funding for his outdoor center to be built at the Mitchell School; $50 to the Wounded Warrior Project; $1000 for an inbound exchange student.
*The Club is looking for a member to be a sponsor for the inbound exchange student. This is not hosting, rather the point of contact for Rotary. See Charles.
*The Salvation Army Bell ringing is this Saturday.
*The Board has renewed the contract with the Sheraton, and the member’s meal charge will go from $17 to $18 starting in January.

Guests: Steve Schauwer, a friend of Dan Tibma’s who is a prospective member.

Happy $$$: Kathy Lozano for her son and wife’s pregnancy making Kathy a grandparent for the first time! George Hoffmeister for being able to give his granddaughter a dictionary as part of the Dictionary project at Hillside School; Great to be here; Erica for her son Jack’s team qualifying for the state Robotics Championship! Scotti for being finished with the ‘Movember’ mustache.

-The Fasting and Prayer Conference will include meals…
-The sermon this morning was ‘Jesus Walks on the Water’; Tonight’s sermon is entitled ‘Searching for jesus’.

-Next Thursday there will be tryouts for the choir. They need all the help they can get!
Guest Speaker: Michele Levy who is the Chief Marketing Officer of the Walnut Hill School for the Arts, in Natick, grades 9-12. Walnut Hill has a student body of about 300 students, 30% of which are international, and 70% are boarders. Majors include: Dane, Creative Writing, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts. The school has come a long way and is looking to grow their student population. The club was given 4 tickets to their performance of the Nutcracker Suite. Anyone interested, see Charles.

Their schedule in school in 8am to 2 pm regular academic classes, and then at 2 is when they go to work on their specific art. The school is part of the Natick Cultural District, designated by the state.

During Natick Days, the students painted on to 262 bicycle helmets for the event. They are affiliated with the TCAN group in Natick. Walnut Hill is hosting an American Ballet competition June 5 to June 8, 2013. This will help to increase the schools visibility.
