• The Sheraton is hosting an open house today from 4-7 PM. All welcome.
• Several members read notes of thanks from the Needham third graders for the dictionaries

Humor: Nothing official, but many laughs and good cheer shared by all.

Guest Speaker: Today we had a club assembly where the following topics were discussed:; and • Jim Brown reminded folks that there is a group, “Friends of Rotary” who are eligible to receive the newsletter. The current list stands at about 40. If you know of someone who would like to receive our newsletter, contact Jim and they will be added to the list. People can always opt out, it is a great way to build awareness among non-Rotarians and increase their interest in our mission and local projects.
• Charles and Bill R. will get a count on the flags/banners that are presented to guests and if necessary, order more
• The Carnival that was scheduled to be located at Olin College the first week of June as a fund raiser for Gift of Life and Rotary ran into a bit of a snag with Olin deciding against hosting the carnival. Ted Shaughnessy is looking for an alternative site and welcomes input from anyone who can think of a private business location that would be willing to host. Space required to accommodate parking for 250 cars and the space for the carnival.
• Fund raising for the district. Charles discussed some ideas previously presented by members as well as opening the floor to discussion. Ideas included:
-Pizza tasting/judging
-Poker night
-5K road race on St. Patrick’s Day
- Jazz night
- Needham/Rotary Jeopardy

Charles appointed Greg and Lois to the committee to look at ideas for a music fund raiser. Bill R. commented that we should be thinking about the revenue generated for the time spent on organizing and is the event cost effective.

• Charles presented a proposed slate of officers for the July elections
-Glenn Davis – President
- Chris Teachout – V.P.
-Bob Cocks – Secretary
-Ryan Damaso – Treasurer
-Greg Cronin- Sargent at Arms
-Rachel Yurik – Deputy Sargent at Arms Club

We closed the meeting with a music medley led by Bob Cocks.
