•Ted Shaughnessy reported that Gift of Life’s John Garcia’s has returned to Ecuador after 2 months here in Boston. More work to be done, but a success!! Ted has 2 more children signed up for the Maine Medical Center future operations.

•The music event is scheduled for Saturday January 31st, with 2 competitions: one for high school student musicians, and one for others. Should be exciting! Kathy Whitney has signed up  several restaurants to help by offering discounts for music goers!

Good news! Despite reports to the contrary, Libby was not arrested in Brockton for serving meals to the homeless.

Needham Education Fund  will be hosting a pancake breakfast the first Saturday in March, and Rotary will assist!
On January 26 at 5 pm, our own Louise Condon will be awarded the Patrick Ford Award by Needham’s Youth Services.
Rich Forte is famous as he was the host on the video at   Take a look!
January 14th, the NBA will be hosting a dinner, which Louise and Kathy are arranging. Will be a good event.

Joke of the day: Courtesy of Doug George:
What is Celibacy?
> Celibacy can be a choice in life, or a condition imposed by circumstances.
> While attending a Marriage Weekend, Frank and his wife Ann listened to the
> instructor declare, “It is essential that husbands and wives know the things|
> that are important to each other.”
> He then addressed the men.
> “Can you name and describe your wife's favorite flower?”
> Frank leaned over, touched Ann’s arm gently, and whispered,
> “Gold Medal-All-Purpose, isn't it?”
> And thus began Frank's life of celibacy.

Presidential minute: This President was born on 12 /29/xx.  After being President, he became the Senator from Tennessee. He was also the first President to be impeached. Who was it? Andrew Johnson, our 17the President.

Today’s Speaker: Pres. Glen wrapped up the year with some insights:

-In 2015, the BOD is investigating having one of our meetings a month be a breakfast not a lunch, in an effort to expand our appeal.
-Discussion ensued surrounding the Memorial Scholarship. Could we get our investments back to where they are the largest Scholarships at Needham High? The format has changed over the years. It was as much as 4 students per year at $8000 per year, but is now 2 students per year at $10,000 each. More to follow.
-Our Millennium Fund was discussed as there has been no activity (in or out) in over 5 years.
-How can the club better reach out to Needham’s needy?

Glen wished us all a Happy New Year!!!
