Bill led us in the pledge of allegiance, with Ron Sockol taking us through God Bless America and Darrell led us in prayer.

 

 We met in a new conference room downstairs, and we could do with many singing lessons!!

 

Announcements:

  • Remember, Rotary and the Needham Community Council are sponsoring the Thanksgiving Day dinner for all Needham residents who have no other place to go. The Masonic Hall Thursday starting at 4:40 am, with dinner to be served at noon. Set up Wednesday night!
  • Karen reminded everyone  (See picture) that the Needham Community Council is asking for $20 gift cards (CVS, Sudbury Farms etc) that will be given as holiday gifts to folks who are in need.
  • Ron and Lois Sockol have volunteered to have the Holiday Party at their home again this year. Lois and Bill will work out the details and the date.
  • The Needham Boosters are seeking volunteers for their X Mass Tree Sale. Come to Claxton Field on Nov 19 from 9-11 AM with a drill to help unload the trees and set up.
  • Gary for organizing, coordinating and producing a great event and fund raiser!
  • No Tuesday lunch meeting November 22.  Instead there will be the annual Needham/Wellesley football dinner that evening at the Wellesley Senior Center, Route 16 at Route 9 in Wellesley Hills
  • The Thanksgiving dinner at the Masonic Hall is progressing nicely with all sponsors on board
  • BID Needham Gala is this Friday evening. There are still tickets available. Louise is coordinating the Quickie Board for this important community event.
  • Gary thanked everyone who helped at the Pancake Breakfast. There was a great turn out of Rotarians who lent a hand.
  • George reminded everyone about the Rotary Memorial Scholarship Fund. This is an important program of Rotary that we sometimes forget.
  • There will be no meeting next week. However, The Needham/Wellesley Football Dinner will be held at the Wellesley Community Center on Tuesday evening. All Rotarians are invited to attend.
  • Rotary International is sponsoring an educational program on Social Media on November 16 in Woburn. See Bill for details

50:50: Pot started at $848, and guess what: Karen Wetmore her 50% share!! Congratulations!! The pot is now zero.

 

HUMOR: Tom and Bill gave us some chuckles with a few funny stories.

 

Guest Speaker:  Brian Tetrault, a professional photographer and videographer, was our guest speaker. He had a wonderful display of his photos and the video he produced for BB&N’s $63 million dollar capital campaign. This is the new work of ‘digital imaging’. Very creative and all very professional!!! Brian is a graduate of Boston University and has done s lot of work for Bill Rosenthal, including pictures at Rotary.
