Guest Speaker: Today we had Carol Hasenfus Cento and Beth Himmell from Needham’s “Own Your Peace” organization. In the wake of the teenage suicides in Needham, this group is involving NHS students to mentor each other to prevent such tragedies. They are going to have a $150,000 piece of sculpture installed at NHS. This 7 foot tall artwork is done in stainless steel and, Ted Clawson (who designed the memorial to the 7 Boston Firefighters who lost their lives at the Vendome fire in 1972) is designing the piece.

They are looking to raise funds by having a ‘Dancing with the Stars’ competition on June 15 at Mosley’s. They are also looking to find folks to deliver handouts to specific routes in Needham. Takes about an hour. See their web site at www.ownyourpeace.org.
