Pledge of Allegiance: Charles Nelson led us in the Pledge of Aleigance, while;  God Bless America was led led By Ron Sockol and Doug George gave the invocation..

 

Announcements:

  • Rotary District Forum-Tuesday 11/13
  • 11/17  YMCA Giving Gals @ Powers Hall. Congratulations Kathy: all sold out!
  • 11/20 no lunch meeting since it will be the Rotary Football Dinner with Wellesley at Needham Sheraton at 6:00 pm with Mike Riley.

 Guests: - Maria Slavin, YMCA BOD member and guest of Kathy; Marty Lindeman from the University District Rotary Club of Seattle, which has 125 members. Maury mentioned that the Seattle club has 700 members! He  has moved to Dedham and is visiting a number of local clubs with the idea of joining one. Welcome Marty! Veishal Singhai, prospective Rotarian from Middlesex Bank: welcome back! Many people gave money in memory of Jerry Goodman; Hank and Chuck each gave $ 20 for their first time to Rotary in a while: welcome back! Scotti have a full page of thank you’s, but since he only gave a small amount, they don’t get repeated here; Many thank you dollars for Glen’s leadership on the Pancake Breakfast! A number of folks gave money to recognize our ability to vote! Deb for her 20th high school reunion.

 

Happy $$$:  Eric Roseen for his ability to vote, happy to flip pancakes; Good APHA conference; was able to see the Giants/Patriots game when he could not leave SF on schedule due to Sandy; Glen Davis $21 for everyone’s help with our 21st annual pancake breakfast;

50:50: Looking for queen of diamonds: The Pot is at $356. with no winner today.

Guest Speakers: Kathy, Rita Delabowski, and Marjorie Rochan visited us from People First, Homecare and Hospice, headquartered in Auburndale. They talked about what volunteering means within their organization, and some of the positive reaction people have had to volunteering, and the good that they do in the community.
