Joke of the day: No dictionary has been able to adequately explain the difference between the words COMPLETE and FINISHED. However in a recent linguistic competition held in London England, and attended by some of the best linguists in the world, Mr. Samsundar Balgobin, a Guyanese linguist, was able to shed light on the differences as follows: “When you marry the right woman, you are COMPLETE. But, when you marry the wrong woman, you are FINISHED. And when the right one catches you with the wrong one, you are COMPLETLEY FINISHED!!’

Guest Speaker: Chaz Heberle, a Norwich University graduate who lives in Lakewood, Washington where he has been a Rotarian for 23 years, spoke on Citizenship and what it means particularly to foreign countries, i.e., Russia. Citizenship should be a way of life and not something from a book; what attitude and understanding people need to know to make democracy work; Freedom is Not Free; going from subject to citizens is a state of mind. He ran the Citizen Project from 2000-2009, and is still very active in it today. He has spent years working with the Russians (at their request) aiding them in learning more particulars about Democracy and how they can make it real in Russia.

This talk was about his experiences with establishing democracy in Russia. He has another talk about Democracy in America. Let’s hope we can get him to come back! See his web site at www.citizenproject.org.
